Newington Nor'easters (Newington, CT) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Hartford Public Owls (Hartford, CT), 73-31 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Newington upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Nor'easters host St. John-Vianney (Holmdel, NJ) to play the Lancers in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Lancers go into the bout with a record of 12-0. St. John-Vianney won 59-48 in their recent non-league bout against Long Island Lutheran (Brookville, NY)

Next up, the Owls play the Maloney Spartans (Meriden, CT) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 20. Hartford Public will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 4-5 record after their 37-26 non-league loss to New Milford (New Milford, CT).
