Illinois High School Basketball - Mahomet-Seymour can't hold off Sacred Heart-Griffin

The Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones basketball team scored 42 points and held the visiting Mahomet-Seymour Bulldogs to 35 in the Cyclones non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Cyclones now sport a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jacksonville for a Central State Eight contest on Saturday, January 14. Sacred Heart-Griffin will battle a Crimsons team coming off a 54-31 league loss to Rochester (Rochester, IL). The Crimsons record now stands at 6-16.

The Bulldogs (17-5) will now prepare for their contest against Morton (Morton, IL). The Potters enter the non-league contest with a 11-9 record. In their last contest, Morton was nudged by Canton (Canton, IL), 47-38, in a league contest.
