Rhode Island High School Basketball - Westerly overwhelmed by Ponaganset

The Westerly Bulldogs basketball team (Westerly, RI), was routed 57-34 in Thursday's league battle with the host Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI)

The Chieftains now sport a 7-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Scituate for a State Championship battle on Monday, January 16. Ponaganset will battle a Spartans team coming off a 56-22 league loss to Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Spartans record now stands at 1-7.

The Bulldogs (2-8) will now prepare for their battle against St. Mary Academy-Bay View (East Providence, RI). The Bengals come into the State Championship battle with a 6-2 record. In their last battle, St. Mary Academy-Bay View trounced South Kingstown (Wakefield, RI), 69-52, in a league battle.
