Connecticut High School Basketball - Derby can't hold off Ansonia

The Ansonia Chargers basketball team scored 48 points and restricted the host Derby Red Raiders to 44 in the Chargers league victory on Friday.
The Chargers now sport a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Oxford for a Naugatuck Valley contest on Tuesday, January 16. Ansonia will battle a Wolverines team coming off a 80-54 league loss to Seymour (Seymour, CT). The Wolverines record now stands at 1-8.
The Red Raiders (2-7) will now prepare for their contest against St. Paul Catholic (Bristol, CT). The Falcons come into the Naugatuck Valley contest with a 6-3 record. In their last contest, St. Paul Catholic edged Watertown (Watertown, CT), 62-42, in a league contest.
