Bridgeport Indians (Bridgeport, WV) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Grafton Bearcats (Grafton, WV), 51-46 in a league bout.

With the victory, Bridgeport improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Indians host Jefferson (Shenandoah Junction, WV) to confront the Cougars in a non-league battle on Saturday, January 13. The Cougars come into the battle with a record of 11-2. Jefferson lost 62-58 in their recent league battle against Washington (Charles Town, WV)

The Bearcats (4-5) will now prepare for their battle against Lewis County (Weston, WV). The Minutemen come into the Big Ten battle with a 8-5 record. In their last battle, Lewis County edged Robert C. Byrd (Clarksburg, WV), 60-47, in a league battle.
