In Friday's non-league outing, the Pope John Paul II Jaguars (Slidell, LA) basketball squad edged the visiting Franklinton Demons (Franklinton, LA), by a margin of 63-59.
The Jaguars (16-5) will now prepare for their outing against St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA). The Comets go into the non-league outing with a 12-3 record. In their last outing, St. Charles Catholic held off Lutcher (Lutcher, LA), 52-46, in a non-league outing.
The Demons now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Archbishop Hannan for a 4A District 8 outing on Friday, January 19. Franklinton will clash with a Hawks squad coming off a 50-43 non-league win over Northshore (Slidell, LA). The Hawks record now stands at 17-5.
