The Lancaster Golden Gales (Lancaster, OH) basketball knocked off the visiting Westland Cougars (Galloway, OH), 70-55 in Friday's non-league test.

The Golden Gales (5-7) will now prepare for their test against Newark (Newark, OH). The Wildcats go into the Ohio Capital - Buckeye test with a 12-1 record. In their last test, Newark notched a victory over Austintown-Fitch (Youngstown, OH), 51-45, in a non-league outing.

The Cougars now hold a 4-7 record. They play next when they travel to Dublin Scioto for a non-league outing on Monday, January 15. Westland will clash with a Irish squad coming off a 70-39 league loss to Westerville North (Westerville, OH). The Irish record now stands at 8-4.
