Sedgwick County Cougars (Julesburg, CO) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Caliche Buffaloes (Iliff, CO), 59-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Sedgwick County upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Cougars travel to Haxtun (Haxtun, CO) to play the Fightin' Bulldogs in a 3A/2A Lower Platte bout on Friday, January 19. The Fightin' Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 1-9.

Next up, the Buffaloes play the Otis Bulldogs (Otis, CO) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 13. Caliche will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 2-5 record after their 50-9 league loss to Idalia (Idalia, CO).
