In Sunday's non-league contest, the host Farrell Steelers basketball team scored a close 58-54 triumph over the Sewickley Academy .

The Steelers (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Grove City (Grove City, PA). The Eagles go into the non-league contest with a 10-2 record. In their last contest, Grove City nipped Meadville (Meadville, PA), 72-70, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the battle the Leechburg Blue Devils (Leechburg, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 2 contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Sewickley Academy will attempt to better on its 9-2 season record. The Blue Devils go into the contest with a 2-12 record after their 64-31 league loss to Winchester Thurston (Pittsburgh, PA).
