Shaker Bison (Latham, NY) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Averill Park Warriors (Averill Park, NY), 48-38 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Shaker upgrades its record to 8-2 on the season. The Bison host Albany Academy for Boys (Albany, NY) to play the Cadets in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Cadets go into the bout with a record of 6-4. Albany Academy for Boys won 60-46 in their recent non-league bout against Utica Academy of Science (Utica, NY)

Next up, the Warriors play the Columbia Blue Devils (East Greenbush, NY) in a Section 2 Suburban - Gray bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Averill Park will attempt to upgrade on its 5-7 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 1-11 record after their 54-47 non-league loss to Saratoga Springs (Saratoga Springs, NY).
