In Friday's non-league outing, the Carlsbad Cavemen (Carlsbad, NM) basketball squad edged the visiting Organ Mountain Knights (Las Cruces, NM), by a margin of 52-49.
The Cavemen (10-7) will now prepare for their outing against Centennial (Las Cruces, NM). The Hawks go into the non-league outing with a 6-9 record. In their last outing, Centennial held off Silver (Silver City, NM), 61-39, in a non-league outing.
The Knights now own a 12-3 record. They play next when they travel to Gadsden for a 5A District 3 outing on Monday, January 16. Organ Mountain will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 59-38 non-league loss to Cathedral (El Paso, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 4-10.
