Cathedral Fighting Irish (El Paso, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Fort Hancock Mustangs (Fort Hancock, TX), 80-53 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cathedral upgrades its record to 12-12 on the season. The Fighting Irish travel to Bowie (El Paso, TX) to play the Bears in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Bears go into the bout with a record of 8-12. Bowie lost 73-44 in their recent league bout against Harmony Science Academy (El Paso, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Fort Hancock will attempt to upgrade on its 7-11 season record. The SonBlazers go into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 62-40 non-league win over Mescalero Apache (Mescalero, NM).
