Cornerstone Eagles (Birmingham, AL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Gardendale Rockets (Gardendale, AL), 59-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Cornerstone upgrades its record to 13-8 on the season. The Eagles travel to Altamont (Birmingham, AL) to play the Knights in a 2A Area 8 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Knights go into the bout with a record of 9-6.

Next up, the Rockets play the Holt Ironmen (Holt, AL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Gardendale will attempt to upgrade on its 11-4 season record. The Ironmen go into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 48-47 league win over Montevallo (Montevallo, AL).
