The Mayfield Panthers tipped the visiting Fort Plain Hilltoppers basketball team by a final score of 42-41 in Friday's non-league game.
In their next game, the Panthers face the Saratoga Central Catholic Saints (Saratoga Springs, NY) in a non-league game, on Monday, January 16. Mayfield will attempt to move on its 8-5 season record. The Saints come into the battle with a 8-4 record after their 53-39 league win over Cambridge (Cambridge, NY).
The Hilltoppers (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Berne-Knox-Westerlo (Berne, NY). The Bulldogs come into the Section 2 Western - Mohawk battle with a 8-5 record. In their last battle, Berne-Knox-Westerlo edged Schoharie (Schoharie, NY), 87-54, in a non-league battle.
