Illinois High School Basketball - Andrean can't hold off Marian Catholic

The Marian Catholic Spartans basketball team scored 38 points and held the visiting Andrean Fighting 59ers to 34 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Friday.

The Spartans now sport a 17-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coal City for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 14. Marian Catholic will battle a Coalers team coming off a 57-30 league win over Wilmington (Wilmington, IL). The Coalers record now stands at 14-5.

The Fighting 59ers (15-3) will now prepare for their contest against North Judson-San Pierre (North Judson, IN). The Bluejays enter the non-league contest with a 11-6 record. In their last contest, North Judson-San Pierre nudged LaVille (Lakeville, IN), 31-23, in a league contest.
