Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Hoquiam Grizzlies (Hoquiam, WA) and the host Black Hills Wolves (Tumwater, WA), saw Hoquiam's basketball squad overcome Black Hills by a tally of 53-42.

With the victory, Hoquiam improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Montesano (Montesano, WA) to confront the Bulldogs in a 1A Evergreen challenge on Tuesday, January 17. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. Montesano won 57-52 in their recent non-league challenge against White River (Buckley, WA)

Next up, the Wolves confront the Yelm Tornados (Yelm, WA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Black Hills will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record. The Tornados come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 59-49 league win over River Ridge (Lacey, WA).
