Haines City Hornets (Haines City, FL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Carrollwood Day Patriots (Tampa, FL), 40-37 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Haines City upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Hornets host Plant City (Plant City, FL) to play the Raiders in a 7A District 9 bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Raiders go into the bout with a record of 5-14.
Next up, the Patriots play the Indian Rocks Christian Golden Eagles (Largo, FL) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 14. Carrollwood Day will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record.
