In Friday's non-league challenge, the Houghton Gremlins (Houghton, MI) ice hockey team the visiting Brother Rice Warriors (Bloomfield Hills, MI), by a margin of 3-0.
The Gremlins now possess a 8-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host University of Detroit Jesuit for a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 14. Houghton will clash with a Cubs team coming off a 4-2 non-league win over Trenton (Trenton, MI). The Cubs record now stands at 3-6.
The Warriors (2-3) will now prepare for their challenge against De La Salle Collegiate (Warren, MI). The Pilots enter the Michigan Interscholastic challenge with a 15-0 record. In their last challenge, De La Salle Collegiate tipped Mott (Warren, MI), 6-1, in a non-league challenge.
