Rhode Island High School Ice Hockey - Smithfield defeated by Mount St. Charles Academy

Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties (Woonsocket, RI) fans left the game happy Friday as they witnessed their ice hockey team achieve victory over the host Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), 5-2 in a league match.
The Mounties (5-7) will now prepare for their match against Notre Dame (West Haven, CT). The Green Knights enter the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Notre Dame tipped Fairfield Prep (Fairfield, CT), 6-1, in a league match.
Next up, the Sentinels clash with the Moses Brown Quakers (Providence, RI) in a State Championship Division match, on Monday, January 16. Smithfield will attempt to advance on its 1-5 season record. The Quakers enter the match with a 4-5 record after their 4-0 league win over Burrillville (Harrisville, RI).
