Miramonte Matadors (Orinda, CA) fans were pleased Friday as they observed their soccer team hold off the visiting Alhambra Bulldogs (Martinez, CA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Matadors confront the Ygnacio Valley Wolves (Concord, CA) in a Diablo - Foothill challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Miramonte will attempt to better on its 1-4 season record. The Wolves enter the challenge with a 3-2 record after their 1-1 league Northgate (Walnut Creek, CA).

The Bulldogs now have a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Berean Christian for a Diablo - Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 17. Alhambra will confront a Eagles team coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Acalanes (Lafayette, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-3.
