Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Central Wise Warriors (Norton, VA), 83-61 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Altavista upgrades its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Colonels host Nelson County (Lovingston, VA) to play the Governors in a Dogwood bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Governors come into the bout with a record of 5-6. Nelson County won 68-51 in their recent league bout against Gretna (Gretna, VA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Ridgeview Wolfpack (Clintwood, VA) in a Mountain bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Central Wise will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Wolfpack come into the bout with a 5-3 record after their 71-34 league loss to Gate City (Gate City, VA).
