Lafayette Lions (Lafayette, LA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Anacoco Indians (Anacoco, LA), 54-41 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lafayette upgrades its record to 15-2 on the campaign. The Lions host Comeaux (Lafayette, LA) to play the Spartans in a 5A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 8-8. Comeaux won 47-17 in their recent non-league bout against Abbeville (Abbeville, LA)

Next up, the Indians play the Hicks Pirates (Leesville, LA) in a B District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Anacoco will attempt to upgrade on its 24-8 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 18-9 record after their 74-47 league win over Elizabeth (Elizabeth, LA).
