Red River Bulldogs (Coushatta, LA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Washington Lions (Shreveport, LA), 65-64 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Red River upgrades its record to 12-11 on the season. The Bulldogs host Jonesboro-Hodge (Jonesboro, LA) to clash with the Tigers in a 2A District 3 bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 2-12. Jonesboro-Hodge lost 67-51 in their recent league bout against Mansfield (Mansfield, LA)

Next up, the Lions clash with the Woodlawn-Shreveport Knights (Shreveport, LA) in a 4A District 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Washington will attempt to upgrade on its 13-7 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 14-11 record after their 73-47 non-league win over North Caddo (Vivian, LA).
