The Evangel Christian Eagles (Louisville, KY) basketball nipped the host South Laurel Cardinals (London, KY), 55-48 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Eagles (13-3) will now prepare for their test against North Bullitt (Shepherdsville, KY). The Eagles go into the District 23 test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, North Bullitt was tipped by Shawnee (Louisville, KY), 57-56, in a non-league test.
The Cardinals now own a 10-5 record. They play next when they host Whitley County for a District 50 test on Tuesday, January 23. South Laurel will encounter a Colonels squad coming off a 61-60 league loss to Williamsburg (Williamsburg, KY). The Colonels record now stands at 13-3.
