Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Union Area edged by Farrell

The Union Area Scotties basketball team (New Castle, PA), was nudged 58-51 in Saturday's non-league battle with the host Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA)

The Steelers now possess a 8-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Jamestown for a District 10 Region 1 battle on Tuesday, January 16. Farrell will confront a Muskies team coming off a 59-37 non-league loss to Sharpsville (Sharpsville, PA). The Muskies record now stands at 3-8.

The Scotties (6-9) will now prepare for their battle against Avella (Avella, PA). The Eagles come into the WPIAL 1A 1 battle with a 8-6 record. In their last battle, Avella edged Carlynton (Carnegie, PA), 61-60, in a league battle.
