Monarch Royals (San Diego, CA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host High Tech Mesa Thunder (San Diego, CA), 38-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Monarch upgrades its record to 10-4 on the season. The Royals travel to Health Sciences (San Diego, CA) to clash with the Surgeons in a Pioneer bout on Tuesday, January 16. The Surgeons go into the bout with a record of 1-5. Health Sciences lost 46-41 in their recent league bout against San Diego Academy (National City, CA)

Next up, the Thunder clash with the Chula Vista Learning Community Charter Cobras (San Diego, CA) in a Sierra bout, on Tuesday, January 16. High Tech Mesa will attempt to upgrade on its 2-17 season record.
