In Saturday's non-league outing, the King's Fork Bulldogs (Suffolk, VA) basketball squad edged the host Menchville Monarchs (Newport News, VA), by a margin of 55-48.

The Bulldogs (8-2) will now prepare for their outing against Deep Creek (Chesapeake, VA). The Hornets go into the Southeastern outing with a 4-5 record. In their last outing, Deep Creek held off Hickory (Chesapeake, VA), 70-58, in a league outing.

The Monarchs now own a 7-4 record. They play next when they host Bethel for a Peninsula outing on Tuesday, January 16. Menchville will clash with a Bruins squad coming off a 70-59 league win over Warwick (Newport News, VA). The Bruins record now stands at 7-5.
