Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Emery Spartans (Castle Dale, UT) and the host Kanab Cowboys (Kanab, UT), saw Emery's basketball squad hold off Kanab by a tally of 47-44.

With the victory, Emery improves its record to 9-4 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to North Sanpete (Mt. Pleasant, UT) to play the Hawks in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 15. The Hawks come into the challenge with a record of 0-0.

Next up, the Cowboys play the Millard Eagles (Fillmore, UT) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, January 17. Kanab will attempt to improve on its 1-1 season record.
