Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the East Thunderbirds (Cheyenne, WY) and the visiting Scottsbluff Bearcats (Scottsbluff, NE), saw East's basketball squad hold off Scottsbluff by a tally of 42-37.

With the victory, East improves its record to 11-2 on the campaign. The Thunderbirds travel to Laramie (Laramie, WY) to play the Plainsmen in a 4A Southeast challenge on Wednesday, January 17. The Plainsmen come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Laramie won 56-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Rawlins (Rawlins, WY)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Ogallala Indians (Ogallala, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 16. Scottsbluff will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record.
