Chewelah Cougars (Chewelah, WA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna Broncos (Ritzville, WA), 37-31 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Chewelah upgrades its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Kettle Falls (Kettle Falls, WA) to play the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 1-2.

Next up, the Broncos play the Davenport Gorillas (Davenport, WA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 16. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Gorillas come into the bout with a 1-2 record after their 40-19 non-league loss to Asotin (Asotin, WA).
