Friendswood Mustangs (Friendswood, TX) fans were thrilled Saturday as they observed their soccer team hold off the host Cinco Ranch Cougars (Katy, TX), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Mustangs face the Clear Creek Wildcats (League City, TX) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, January 18. Friendswood will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Leander (Leander, TX).

The Cougars now have a 2-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Katy Taylor for a 6A Region 3 District 19 challenge on Wednesday, January 17. Cinco Ranch will face a Mustangs team coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Montgomery (Montgomery, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-1.
