Academy of the New Church Lions (Bryn Athyn, PA) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Friends Select (Philadelphia, PA), 66-46 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Academy of the New Church upgrades its record to 2-1 on the campaign. The Lions travel to William Penn Charter (Philadelphia, PA) to play the Quakers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 23. The Quakers come into the bout with a record of 0-1.

Next up, the play the Perkiomen School Panthers (Pennsburg, PA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 17. Friends Select will attempt to upgrade on its 0-1 season record.
