In Monday's league contest, the visiting Phoenix Christian Cougars basketball team scored a close 49-48 win over the Fountain Hills Falcons.

The Cougars (5-8) will now prepare for their contest against BASIS Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ). The Firebirds come into the 2A Central contest with a 2-8 record. In their last contest, BASIS Phoenix was tipped by Red Rock (Sedona, AZ), 64-46, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Falcons battle the Camp Verde Cowboys (Camp Verde, AZ) in a 2A Central contest, on Thursday, January 16. Fountain Hills will attempt to better on its 13-5 season record. The Cowboys come into the contest with a 9-9 record after their 71-67 non-league loss to Veritas Prep (Phoenix, AZ).
