Illinois High School Basketball - Metro-East Lutheran sneaks past Sparta

January 13, 2025: Edwardsville, IL 62025

The Metro-East Lutheran Knights basketball team scored 61 points and limited the visiting Sparta Bulldogs to 59 in the Knights non-league triumph on Monday.

The Knights now possess a 9-5 record. They play next when they host Althoff Catholic for a Gateway game on Tuesday, January 14. Metro-East Lutheran will play a Crusaders team coming off a 77-56 non-league loss to Edwardsville (Edwardsville, IL). The Crusaders record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, Sparta falls to 9-4 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Perryville (Perryville, MO) to play the Pirates in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 14. The Pirates go into the game with a record of 2-5.
