In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting Cumberland Gap Panthers basketball team scored a close 39-32 triumph over the Barbourville Tigers.
The Panthers (6-6) will now prepare for their contest against Washburn (Washburn, TN). The Pirates go into the non-league contest with a 14-4 record. In their last contest, Washburn nipped Independent Athletic Ministries (Elizabethton, TN), 51-18, in a non-league contest.
In their next game, the Tigers battle the McCreary Central Raiders (Stearns, KY) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 14. Barbourville will attempt to better on its 5-9 season record. The Raiders go into the contest with a 4-6 record after their 62-12 league loss to Southwestern (Somerset, KY).
