In Monday's league contest, the host Clairton Bears basketball team scored a big 91-57 win over the Monessen Greyhounds.
The Bears (9-2) will now prepare for their contest against Serra Catholic (McKeesport, PA). The Eagles come into the WPIAL 1A 2 contest with a 7-6 record. In their last contest, Serra Catholic smashed West Greene (Waynesburg, PA), 68-50, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Greyhounds battle the Bishop Canevin Crusaders (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 1A 2 contest, on Thursday, January 16. Monessen will attempt to better on its 3-8 season record. The Crusaders come into the contest with a 8-4 record after their 53-26 league win over Mapletown (Greensboro, PA).
