In Monday's non-league outing, the host Cesar Chavez Champions soccer squad scored a tight 4-1 win over the Moon Valley Rockets.
The Champions (8-2) will now prepare for their outing against Maryvale (Phoenix, AZ). The Panthers enter the 6A Metro outing with a 2-4 record. In their last outing, Maryvale tipped West Point (Avondale, AZ), 3-2, in a non-league outing.
Next up, the Rockets confront the Cortez Colts (Phoenix, AZ) in a non-league outing, on Wednesday, January 15. Moon Valley will attempt to improve on its 2-3 season record. The Colts enter the outing with a 0-5 record after their 8-0 non-league loss to Glendale (Glendale, AZ).
