Evangel Christian Eagles (Louisville, KY) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Elizabethtown Panthers (Elizabethtown, KY), 73-64 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Evangel Christian upgrades its record to 9-1 on the season. The Eagles host Breathitt County (Jackson, KY) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Monday, January 16. The Bobcats go into the bout with a record of 8-7. Breathitt County lost 63-47 in their recent non-league bout against Hazard (Hazard, KY)

Next up, the Panthers play the DeSales Colts (Louisville, KY) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Elizabethtown will attempt to upgrade on its 8-4 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 10-6 record after their 59-52 non-league loss to Calloway County (Murray, KY).
