The Highland Springs Springers (Highland Springs, VA) basketball knocked off the visiting Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA), 62-49 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Springers (6-4) will now prepare for their test against Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA). The Mustangs go into the Capital test with a 1-12 record. In their last test, Mechanicsville went down by Hanover (Mechanicsville, VA), 56-40, in a league test.
The Mavericks now own a 6-10 record. They play next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson for a Colonial test on Tuesday, January 17. Freeman will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 79-34 non-league win over Windsor (Windsor, VA). The Vikings record now stands at 6-6.
