Lake Zurich Bears (Lake Zurich, IL) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Palatine Pirates (Palatine, IL), 55-50 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Lake Zurich upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Stevenson (Lincolnshire, IL) to play the Patriots in a North Suburban bout on Friday, January 20. The Patriots come into the bout with a record of 14-3. Stevenson won 64-48 in their recent non-league bout against Saint Viator (Arlington Heights, IL)

Next up, the Pirates play the West Aurora Blackhawks (Aurora, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 16. Palatine will attempt to upgrade on its 13-6 season record. The Blackhawks come into the bout with a 14-7 record after their 74-61 non-league win over Glenbard East (Lombard, IL).
