Lewis Mills Spartans (Burlington, CT) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Litchfield Cowboys (Litchfield, CT), 51-35 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lewis Mills upgrades its record to 7-2 on the season. The Spartans host Wethersfield (Wethersfield, CT) to play the Eagles in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-4. Wethersfield won 56-46 in their recent non-league challenge against Valley Regional (Deep River, CT)

Next up, the Cowboys confront the Terryville Kangaroos (Terryville, CT) in a Berkshire challenge, on Tuesday, January 17. Litchfield will attempt to improve on its 2-8 season record. The Kangaroos come into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 64-32 league loss to Northwestern Regional (Winsted, CT).
