Santa Fe Prep Blue Griffins (Santa Fe, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Mesa Vista Trojans (Ojo Caliente, NM), 64-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Santa Fe Prep upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Blue Griffins host St. Michael's (Santa Fe, NM) to play the Horsemen in a 3A District 2 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Horsemen come into the bout with a record of 11-4. St. Michael's won 54-52 in their recent non-league bout against Sandia Prep (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Trojans play the McCurdy Bobcats (Espanola, NM) in a 2A District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Mesa Vista will attempt to upgrade on its 7-8 season record. The Bobcats come into the bout with a 5-10 record after their 61-50 non-league loss to Moriarty (Moriarty, NM).
