Roncalli Cavaliers (Aberdeen, SD) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Warner Monarchs (Warner, SD), 67-61 in a league bout.

With the victory, Roncalli upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Cavaliers host Tiospa Zina (Agency Village, SD) to play the Wambdi in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Wambdi come into the bout with a record of 7-3. Tiospa Zina lost 69-39 in their recent league bout against Groton (Groton, SD)

Next up, the Monarchs play the Northwestern Area Wildcats (Mellette, SD) in a B Region 1 bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Warner will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Wildcats come into the bout with a 6-0 record after their 64-43 non-league win over Little Wound (Kyle, SD).
