St. Mary's Saints (Annapolis, MD) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sandy Spring Friends Wildebeests (Sandy Spring, MD), 59-52 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, St. Mary's upgrades its record to 12-6 on the campaign. The Saints host St. Paul's (Brooklandville, MD) to play the Crusaders in a MIAA B bout on Friday, January 20. The Crusaders come into the bout with a record of 2-8. St. Paul's lost 44-41 in their recent league bout against Chapelgate Christian Academy (Marriottsville, MD)

Next up, the Wildebeests play the Washington International Red Devils (Washington, DC) in a Potomac Valley bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Sandy Spring Friends will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Red Devils come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 69-24 league loss to Smith Jewish Day School (Rockville, MD).
