New Mexico High School Basketball - Albuquerque Academy tops Belen

January 14, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87109

Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Belen Eagles (Belen, NM), 47-29 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Albuquerque Academy upgrades its record to 6-9 on the campaign. The Chargers travel to Valley (Albuquerque, NM) to play the Vikings in a 4A District 6 bout on Wednesday, January 18. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 10-7. Valley won 76-26 in their recent non-league bout against Cottonwood Classical Prep (Albuquerque, NM)

Next up, the Eagles play the St. Pius X Sartans (Albuquerque, NM) in a 4A District 5 bout, on Thursday, January 19. Belen will attempt to upgrade on its 7-9 season record. The Sartans come into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 56-29 non-league win over West Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NM).
