Colorado High School Basketball - Sand Creek can't hold off Coronado

January 14, 2023: Colorado Springs, CO 80904

The Coronado Cougars basketball team scored 69 points and held the visiting Sand Creek Scorpions to 68 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Saturday.

The Cougars now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Canon City for a 5A/4A Colorado Springs Metro - South contest on Tuesday, January 17. Coronado will battle a Tigers team coming off a 28-27 non-league win over Falcon (Falcon, CO). The Tigers record now stands at 9-5.

The Scorpions (3-8) will now prepare for their contest against Sierra (Colorado Springs, CO). The Stallions enter the 5A/4A Colorado Springs Metro - Nouth contest with a 2-8 record. In their last contest, Sierra was nudged by Thomas Jefferson (Denver, CO), 49-31, in a non-league contest.
