East Side Red Raiders (Newark, NJ) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Irvington Blue Knights (Irvington, NJ), 50-46 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Side upgrades its record to 5-5 on the season. The Red Raiders host Glen Ridge (Glen Ridge, NJ) to play the Ridgers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Ridgers go into the bout with a record of 13-0. Glen Ridge won 56-22 in their recent non-league bout against Barringer (Newark, NJ)

Next up, the Blue Knights play the Shabazz Bulldogs (Newark, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 17. Irvington will attempt to upgrade on its 7-2 season record. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a 1-7 record after their 52-1 non-league loss to Verona (Verona, NJ).
