The Fairmont Firebirds (Kettering, OH) basketball nipped the host Kings Knights (Kings Mill, OH), 49-45 in Saturday's non-league test.
The Firebirds (12-4) will now prepare for their test against Springfield (Springfield, OH). The Wildcats go into the Greater Western Ohio test with a 1-5 record. In their last test, Springfield was tipped by Beavercreek (Beavercreek, OH), 46-34, in a league test.
The Knights now own a 5-3 record. They play next when they host West Clermont for a Eastern Cincinnati test on Thursday, January 19. Kings will encounter a Wolves squad coming off a 60-20 non-league win over Newark (Newark, OH). The Wolves record now stands at 17-0.
