Gallup Bengals (Gallup, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM), 60-57 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Gallup upgrades its record to 4-1 on the campaign. The Bengals travel to Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NM) to play the Bobcats in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Bobcats come into the bout with a record of 0-6. Bloomfield lost 64-24 in their recent non-league bout against Durango (Durango, CO)

Next up, the Chargers play the Valley Vikings (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 18. Albuquerque Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Vikings come into the bout with a 7-3 record after their 55-28 non-league win over Rio Grande (Albuquerque, NM).
