The Clifton Central Comets basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting South Newton Rebels to 36 in the Comets non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Comets now sport a 5-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Manteno for a contest on Wednesday, January 18. Clifton Central will battle a Panthers team coming off a 45-23 league win over Lisle (Lisle, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 1-0.
The Rebels (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against DeMotte Christian (DeMotte, IN). The Knights enter the contest with a 3-9 record. In their last contest, DeMotte Christian was routed by Wheeler (Valparaiso, IN), 33-27, in a non-league contest.
